Metro supermarkets recently announced the adoption of a policy requiring all seafood products–wild or farmed, fresh or frozen–offered to their customers to be derived from sustainable fishery practices. Bâtirente has been involved in a constructive dialogue with Metro for many years, to encourage the corporation to adopt marketing policies based on sustainable development.
Pursuant to Bâtirente’s campaign, copper producer Anvil Mining became a signatory of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI/ITIE).
