Climate changes will have effects on various areas of the world and on enterprises from all sectors of activity. Those who will have anticipated their impacts will manage to extricate themselves. As investors, it is thus essential that we be able to know the climate change risk our portfolios expose us to.
This is why the goal of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is to have the largest enterprises in the world disclose their exposure to climate risk. This includes their level of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and their reduction goals. Since 2007, Bâtirente has been contacting enterprises in its portfolio to encourage them to reply to the CDP questionnaire. Our participation to this initiative is part of both our top-down and bottom-up approaches.
